Neighborhood grandmother Elaine Trapperdine of Quail Hill reported on Wednesday that her grandson Chase is good with computers.

“He’s a real wiz with those things,” said Mrs. Trapperdine. “My emails weren’t working and he fixed them right up. He also showed me how I can type words into a box to find pictures of birds and cats. I got a real kick out of that. I assume he’ll study computers when he goes off to college next fall.”

We reached out to Chase for comment. "I helped her log into her email account and showed her how to use Google," said Chase. "You'd think I’d handed her a winning lotto ticket, the way her face lit up. Can you believe she’s still using Hotmail?"

While Chase enjoys helping his grandmother with basic technology, he doesn't plan to pursue a degree in Computer Science. In fact, Chase is more interested in Forestry, Ecology, or a similar field.

"I just don't think I could stare at a screen all day," said Chase, head down, scrolling through his Instagram feed on his iPhone.

We at the Beacon wish Chase all the best in his scholarly pursuits.
