Pontoon Captain Uses Nautical Terminology

Sunday Park

Larry Barge, owner of local pontoon boat Sunny Daze, was reported on Thursday to be using nautical terminology with his passengers as he approached the dock at The Boathouse restaurant.

“Grab the starboard line!” Barge could be heard telling his wife as he piloted all six horsepower of his Suntracker pontoon toward the dock.

“I need someone at the bow and someone at the stern! I’ll stay here at the helm!” Barge shouted, gripping the wheel and expertly adjusting the throttle.

As his boat glided into its slip, he could be heard telling his son, “Secure the lines! Just a simple clove hitch will do!”

“Alright, everyone. Let’s batten down before we disembark,” Barge reportedly told his passengers. “There’s quite a swell out there today. And you never know when a squall might come through.”
