Compliance Vigilantes: 'We Don't Call the BCA'
A group of vigilante Brandermill residents has taken the enforcement of the HOA covenants into their own hands and has adopted the slogan, "We Don't Call the BCA."
Armed with rakes, blowers, and anti-fungal roof cleansers, the so-called "Compliance Vigilantes" are taking the neighborhood by storm. Under cover of darkness, the vigilantes seek out covenant violations and correct them without involving the Brandermill Community Association compliance office. Residents wake up in the morning to find their driveway has been weeded, their HVAC unit has been screened, and their siding has been scrubbed.
There are even reports that in extreme cases the vigilantes have briefly detained residents and "strongly encouraged" them to address their non-compliance issues, though these reports have not been substantiated.
The Beacon interviewed a senior member of the Compliance Vigilantes, who asked not to be named. “The neighborhood covenants protect our God-given rights, including the right to bear a military-grade leaf blower with tactical sight and night-vision capability. These rights are essential to maintain the appearance of our neighborhood.”
