Commemorative Platter Depicts Historic Signing of Neighborhood Covenants

At the request of its residents, the Brandermill Community Association has worked with a graphic design firm to create a commemorative platter depicting the historic signing of the neighborhood covenants.

“We’re so excited to offer this platter to our residents,” a spokesperson for the BCA announced on Thursday. “The signing of our neighborhood’s governing documents was an historic moment, and we feel that we’ve captured the magic of that moment with this commemorative platter.”

Though the exact date of their signing has long been disputed, the covenants are believed to have been ratified in August of 1974. Brandermill has begun preparations for a Golden Jubilee to be held in the summer of 2024 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their signing.

Last year, Woodlake resident Nicolas Rage tried to steal the original signed copy of the covenants but was caught and apprehended by an off-duty HOA compliance officer. Rage reportedly believed there to be a clue to a treasure hidden within the document. He is currently awaiting trial in a Chesterfield County penitentiary.

The original signed copy of the covenants is kept in a secure glass case with UV filter at the BCA office and can be viewed by appointment.
