Walk To Mailbox Postponed Until Neighbor Goes Back Inside

Jenna Workhome of Shallowford Landing has postponed her daily walk to the mailbox until her neighbor, Bert Shootbreeze, goes back inside. 

“It’s not that I don’t like Bert,” Jenna told us when we interviewed her on Monday. “I just want to avoid the small talk that we’ll inevitably have. Bert is incredibly nice, but super chatty.”

Bert was washing his car at the time, and Jenna told us she would feel compelled to say something like, “Can I be next?” or “Are you trying to make the rest of us look bad?” 

“I think it’s ultimately better for both of us that I wait until he’s done,” Jenna told us.

We sent one of our reporters to interview Bert at his residence. At press time, our reporter was still listening to Bert’s lengthy explanation of his car maintenance routine.
