Checkers, 4, of Nuttree Woods, has made the difficult decision to rehome his human, Dave Cobblestark, 38.

"I've made the difficult decision to rehome Dave. He’s a 38-year-old male, housebroken, good-natured, but a little snappy with kids. I'm taking a job out of state and can't bring him with me. He just doesn't travel well," Checkers posted on the Brandermill Families Facebook group on Tuesday.

Checkers went on to write, "I don't have the time anymore to give him the attention he deserves. When Dave came into my life, I was in a different place. It's painful to give him up, but I want him to be somewhere he can thrive."

Checkers assured everyone that Dave would come with all the necessary supplies to keep him happy and healthy. "I'll include his Playstation 4, his favorite hoodie, and his futon. I'll even throw in a six-pack of his favorite treats."

Dave could not be reached for comment. Interested parties should message Checkers via Facebook Messenger. We at the Beacon wish Checkers all the best in his next adventure.
